Tree surgery in Dores, established 2008.

Wyvis Tree Services Ltd is a local arborist company providing professional tree surgery, sectional dismantling and storm-damage response in Dores and the wider Highland area.

About working in Dores

Loch-Ness-shore village.

Dores is on the north shore of Loch Ness, just south of Inverness. The sweep of mature mixed woodland down to the loch creates striking gardens — and tree work here is often about managing very steep, very tall stands of beech, pine and Sycamore on slopes where standard ground-felling is rarely an option.

We work in Dores on rope-and-harness sectional dismantling, MEWP-supported pruning, and storm-damage clearance of windblown trees on the loch-side track.

Common Dores jobs

  • Rope-access pruning

FAQs · Dores

Common questions for Dores customers.

Something we haven't covered? Ask us directly.

Can you work on very steep loch-side sites?

Yes — most of our Loch Ness work is rope-and-harness sectional dismantling, sometimes with an MEWP if we can get one in. Ground-felling is rarely the right answer on those slopes.

What's the safest time of year for pruning Scots pines & loch-side trees?

Late autumn through to late winter is generally best — and we always check for nesting birds whatever the season.

Are you fully insured?

Yes — Wyvis Tree Services Ltd carries comprehensive Public & Employer Liability cover. Evidence available on request before any quote is accepted.

Do I need consent to fell or prune my tree?

Possibly. Trees in a Conservation Area or under a Tree Preservation Order (TPO) need consent from the local planning authority, and conifer hedges over 2m can fall under the High Hedges (Scotland) Act 2013. We check before starting and can submit the 6-week notice on your behalf.

How quickly can you come out?

For a written quote we usually visit within a week. For storm or emergency call-outs (fallen trees, hung-up limbs, road blockages) we aim for same-day cover whenever we possibly can.
